Many companies are currently succeeding in withdrawing from Russia.

Riga, Dusseldorf It took half a year at Mercedes-Benz and a whole year at Henkel. Both Dax companies have separated from their activities in Russia. At Volkswagen, only the signature for the sale of the plant near Moscow is missing.

Many companies have left the Russian market in recent weeks: the German auto parts supplier Continental, the fashion chain Gerry Weber, Toyota from Japan, the Swedish furniture retailer Ikea and the Austrian jewelery manufacturer Swarovski.

“Some companies have recently successfully exited Russia,” confirms Tanja Galander, a partner at Graf von Westphalen law firm, which advises German companies on the subject. She expects more withdrawals in the coming weeks. “There is currently little hope that the situation will change for the better in the short term.”
