Rome Christoph Storbeck repeatedly commuted between the worlds: Sprockhövel in North Rhine-Westphalia, Milan and Palermo, to his Sicilian wife and their two children. At the beginning of the year, Storbeck decided to leave Germany for good.

“I’m right in the middle of the bureaucracy circus,” he says. Just to register in Palermo and apply for an Italian ID card, he had to go to the office five times and wait for hours. “It’s all very adventurous here.” Actually, he also wanted to register his German car. This will probably drag on: Recently, the entire responsible department of the Palermo Road Traffic Office was arrested for paying bribes.
