Frankfurt The year 2022 has been a disaster for investors so far. The vast majority of asset classes were loss-makers. This is reflected in the balance sheet for investment funds for the first three quarters, which André Härtel from the fund rating house Scope Fund Analysis calculated for the Handelsblatt.

Equity funds for Eastern Europe were hit hardest, losing an average of 42.4 percent due to the consequences of the Ukraine war.

Among the top products in recent years, funds for technology stocks have suffered the most. An average loss of 30.5 percent in the first three quarters stands in stark contrast to the previous boom. The bottom line is that Microsoft’s stock has still more than quadrupled in five years, and Apple’s stock has become almost five times as expensive.

Tech stocks could soon be back on their long-term path to success. At least that’s what many experts suspect. They argue that the reason for the recent slump in prices will soon lose its impact.
