Who Introduced the Shiba Inu (SHIB)?

In August 2020, an anonymous person (or persons) named “Ryoshi” created the Shiba Inu (SHIB). The popular meme coin SHIB has skyrocketed in price months after its launch. Thus, it became a decentralized cryptocurrency. A community of supporters called SHIB Army took ownership of SHIB on social media, especially on Twitter. SHIB’s exponential growth has featured heavily in the crypto community and mainstream media. But what do we know about the founder(s)? Despite the phenomenal popularity of the SHIB, Shiba Inu founder Ryoshi never appeared. Ryoshi seems to be following the same steps as Bitcoin’s founder, Satoshi Nakamoto.

Did Shiba Inu founder quit meme coin?

At first, SHIB emerged as a competitor to Elon Musk’s backed Dogecoin (DOGE). It overtook DOGE by becoming the most popular dog-themed cryptocurrency for retailers in 2021. Besides that, Ryoshi remained silent for most of 2021. The only sign of activity was spotted on May 30, when he deleted all of Ryoshi’s tweets and Twitter bio, as we’ve also reported as Cryptokoin.com. This left room for speculation. Has he deleted his social media presence or has his account been hacked? The first option seems more appropriate, as it implies that Ryoshi will disappear in the deleted blog post. Ryoshi said:

I’m not important and one day I’ll be gone without notice.

Following this message, SHIB encouraged its developers to continue working on the SHIB ecosystem. Ryoshi’s disappearance was in line with the wider downturn of the cryptocurrency market of June 2022. After the announcement, popular meme coin SHIB took a hit and fell 5 percent. This development further contributed to the altcoin’s nearly 80 percent price drop from its all-time high in October 2021. Rumors continue to circulate about Ryoshi’s possible identity and what his actions mean. Theories on the subject are also spoken a lot in the crypto community.

We continue to grow on the path drawn by our founder…

Shiba Inu’s project leader, Shytoshi Kusama, wrote a blog post to pay homage to the eponymous founder. However, the founder of the SHIB community has demystified rumors that he ran into problems after his departure. It is worth noting that according to Kusama, Ryoshi was not involved in the SHIB project for at least a year. So much of the ecosystem’s input and direction has been thanks to the developers and the general community who continue Ryoshi’s vision.

Shiba Inu developer Kusama explained:

As we scale up these components and build platforms for the greater ShibArmy, we’re bringing Ryoshi’s vision and plan for this grand experiment to life. FUD will be just that. But Shib is Shib. We continue to grow towards the future by following the path drawn by our magnificent founder.
