WHO Declares Level 3 Emergency After Earthquake

The World Health Organization declared a level 3 emergency after the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş that caused great destruction in more than one province.

Two major earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş caused great pain especially in the central province, Hatay and Adıyaman. On the third day of the earthquake, while the situation in the region was still unclear, a critical decision was made by the World Health Organization.

As a result of the earthquake that caused great destruction and high number of deaths in Turkey and Syria, the World Health Organization Declared a level 3 emergency. Level 3 emergency is the highest emergency level of the World Health Organization. The WHO Regional Director for Europe, Dr. Hans Kluge did it.
