While Meme Coin Goes Up in Flames, Shytoshi Kusama Received a Remarkable Reaction!

Shiba Inu killings continue unabated. Shiba Inu team launched another Shibarium-supported burn over the weekend.

Data shared by Shibburn according tothe Shiba Inu team sent exactly 8,615,169,427 (8.61 billion) SHIB to the unusable wallet in a single transaction.

Koinfinans.com As we reported, at the time of writing, 8.61 billion tokens were worth $87,099. On-chain data shows that the transaction occurred on December 16.

The latest burn is the second largest burn of SHIB tokens supported by Shibarium.

The Shiba Inu team initiated the first Shibarium-supported cremation process on December 4, 2023.

The team had previously sent 8.24 billion SHIB tokens, equivalent to 75 thousand dollars. With Shibarium transactions increasing tremendously recently, the team has promised to launch three manual burning operations on December 14, 15, and 16.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, SHIB was not burned on 14 and 15 December as promised. However, the team burned over 8.6 billion SHIB on December 16th.

Shiba Inu Leader Reacts

Meanwhile, the second Shibarium-powered news was first shared by Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama on the X platform.

Kusama announced in a December 16 tweet that the team was preparing to “fry” billions of SHIBs. He stated that Shibarium transactions deserve to be celebrated.

For context, Shibarium has continued to gain widespread adoption as the total number of transactions reached a staggering 132,861,947 (132.86 million) in just four months.

Following a huge increase in Shibarium transactions in recent weeks, the team behind Shiba Inu has managed to burn billions of SHIB in less time than expected.

While the recently initiated cremation efforts at the Shibarium are laudable, Kusama feels that more effective cremations will only be possible if they are adopted on a global scale.

Kusama also reiterated that she will be making a big announcement this week.
