Berlin From the new heating system in the basement to the insulation of the facade or the house roof: there are many measures for the energy modernization of a house that are subsidized with cheaper loans and repayment grants.
The state development bank KfW also offers state support for the construction and purchase of new, energy-efficient buildings. Only recently did the Ministry of Building announce the funding criteria for the new building that will apply from March.
In view of the high CO2 emissions in the building sector, refurbishment of existing buildings is key. For this reason, a total of 13 billion euros will be available for these measures in 2023. In contrast, the federal government is only providing 1.1 billion euros this year to promote new buildings and apartments. Of this, 750 million euros are to be allocated to the support program for climate-friendly new construction and 350 million euros to the promotion of home ownership for families.
