Which rank is Turkey in Europe in electric car conversion?

The whole world has entered a great electricity transformation. Countries have allocated huge budgets to build their own infrastructure. Some restrictive bans were imposed on automotive companies. Today, the electric car sales data of Europe, including Turkey, were announced.

Turkey became the last in Europe in electric car sales!

According to the data shared by Emre Özpeynirci and Erol Şahin today, Turkey managed to increase its electric car market share by 179.31 percent in a year. But this ratio can be misleading. Because the number of pieces is far below the desired.

In fact, when we look at the ratios, we see that the market share, which was 0.29 percent last year, increased to 0.81 percent this year. Of course, there are still 2 more quarters to the end of the year. If we consider the new electric car SCT regulation, the demand is expected to increase gradually.

Togg, in his social media post today, said that he will start trial production before mass production.

But there is already such a demand all over the world. So much so that almost 80 percent of the cars sold in some countries are fully electric. Although such countries set a positive example, Turkey ranked 31st in the European ranking of 0.81 percent.

When we look at all engine types, hybrid and full electrics make up close to 45 percent of the market in Europe. In Turkey, this rate is below 11 percent. Although diesel usage rates are very close, the difference is doubled in gasoline. Because more than 70 percent of the vehicles sold in Turkey are gasoline powered. In Europe, this rate is around 38 percent.

Of course, as we mentioned, there are quite high and low values in Europe as well. For example, only 2.35 percent of cars sold in Greece this year are electric. 12 percent in France, 13.37 percent in England, 19.26 percent in the Netherlands and 79 percent in Norway.
