When will the iPhone with under-screen Face ID be released?

In the past days, it has become clear that the Touch ID sensor will not come to the iPhone 14 models, which will be released in the third quarter of this year. On the other hand, it is certain that the Pro models will have a perforated screen. The latest leaks may upset users who are waiting for the under-screen Face ID technology to buy an iPhone.

Apple users are upset: iPhone 14 will not have the expected feature!

Apple will not bring the feature that has recently appeared in patent leaks in the iPhone 14 series, which it will release this year.

Under-screen Face ID technology will come with iPhone 16!

According to the information shared by technology analysts on social media, Apple currently has the technology to put both the under-screen Face ID and the under-screen Touch ID sensor on iPhone models, if it wants to. He even continues to work on his prototypes.

However, the company introduced 120Hz screen refresh rate support on Pro models by only shrinking the notch in the recently introduced iPhone 13 series. In the iPhone 14 series, which will be released this year, Pro models will use a two-hole screen with a long hole or hole+pill shape, one camera and one Face ID section.

On the other hand, non-Pro models will use the 120 Hz notched display of the iPhone 13s introduced last year. Of course, this year, instead of the mini model, a new device called 14 Max will join us and the mini case will appear as the new iPhone SE in the first quarter of 2023.

Under-screen Face ID iPhone

The fact that Apple is not bringing under-screen Face ID and Touch ID technology to iPhone models this year is purely a marketing strategy. In fact, if the claims are true, it will offer devices using a hole+pill-shaped screen in 2022, an under-screen Touch ID sensor in 2023, and a completely unnotched under-screen Face ID sensor in 2024.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who shared detailed leaks and explanations on the subject on his Twitter account, expresses the situation as follows:

My guess is the same – the under-screen Face ID (iPhone 16) is coming in 2024, and this timeline is less of a technical issue and more of a marketing thing.
