Making GIFs with your own videos on WhatsApp

With its new update in 2016, WhatsApp allowed its users to both send ready-made GIFs and produce GIFs from videos that are 6 seconds or less stored on their phones. But how can you create a GIF without the need for any app?

  • Step 1: Enter your chat with the person you want to send the GIF to.
  • Step 2: Press the ‘+’ icon next to your chat box.
  • Step 3: Click Photo AND Video Gallery.
  • Step 4: Select the video you want to make a GIF.
  • Step 5: Trim the video you want to GIF to be 6 seconds or less from the crop location.
  • Step 6: Click on ‘GIF’ below the crop location.
  • Step 7: Send the video you choose as a GIF by pressing the blue arrow below.

How to send ready-made GIFs saved on WhatsApp?
