What will become of the Wagner missions in Africa now?

Berlin For the head of the notorious Wagner troupe, Yevgeny Prigozhin, the journey is apparently over for the time being. An Embraer Legacy 600 business jet, which according to US information is linked to the Russian mercenary chief, arrived in the Belarusian capital of Minsk on Tuesday.

After the aborted attempted coup at the weekend, Prigozhin made his way to Russia’s neighboring country – into political exile. Now the Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko has confirmed the arrival of the Wagner leader.

But there might be other options for him to set up a seat abroad. For example, Wagner has a lot of influence in Africa, especially in the crisis-hit countries of Mali and the Central African Republic, but also in Sudan and Libya. How is it going there with the troubled Wagner troupe?
