What Powell is hiding about the interest rate turnaround

Jerome Powell has been preparing his image change for a long time. As early as January, the head of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) sent a clear signal to Wall Street: the time when the Fed was a friend and supporter of the stock markets is over.

At the time, however, many did not want to admit it. They were too spoiled by the good times, when the stock markets benefited from the ultra-loose monetary policy and set new records again and again.

Now, however, the message has got through: The Fed currently only has one focus and that is fighting inflation. Prices in the USA have recently risen by 7.9 percent, more than they have in 40 years, and according to economists estimates, they could be more than ten percent in the summer.
