Frankfurt When will Ukraine’s spring offensive come, and will it succeed? This is the most important geopolitical issue at the moment. Because this offensive will have consequences for the political map in Europe and beyond.

The further development of the Ukraine war is also relevant for investors. Because at least since the Russian attack in February 2022, geopolitics has been one of the most important drivers of the markets. Currently, the tensions between China and Taiwan and the violence in the Middle East also pose risks for stocks and stock exchanges.

Anna Rosenberg predicts that this will remain the case in the years to come, geopolitical expert at the Amundi Institute, the research center of the French fund company Amundi. She calculates the probability of different scenarios and discusses the consequences for the markets with her colleagues. In their opinion, investors should keep an eye on three regions in particular: Russia and Ukraine, China and Taiwan, and the Middle East.
