The projections (performance test results) that have emerged today compare the current “Raptor Lake-S” (Core i9-13900K) processor with the “Raptor Lake Refresh” series (probably i9-14900K) that will be introduced in the upcoming period.
While the number of cores of the Raptor Lake Refresh family has increased, it is stated that the success of the new Core i9 series may be limited compared to the current i9-13900 series. However, performance gains in Arrow Lake-S are expected to be between 6 percent and 21 percent, assuming the same core configuration and power limits.
Intel has outdone itself: the 16-core Core i5-14600K is coming!
According to reports emerging today, the new Intel Core i5-14600K processor will come with 16 cores in the form of 8P+8E.
The integrated graphics of the new series processors this year will also present a significant leap forward. Equipped with Xe-LPG graphics architecture and 8 Xe cores, the iGPU is expected to offer 240 percent better graphics performance than the current model.
It is thought that Intel will complete the LGA1700 platform with the “Raptor Lake Refresh” series in 2023. However, eyes have already been turned to 2024. The company’s next desktop platform will be its new Socket LGA1851 and will require a new motherboard.
While it’s unclear whether plans will start with the Meteor Lake-S series, mass production of the Arrow Lake-S will begin in mid-2024 and product launches will take place in the second half of 2024. So it will be on sale after about 1 year.
14th generation Intel Core Raptor Lake Refresh processors are now supported in AIDA64
In the leaks about the new Intel desktop processors, it turned out that AIDA64, which cannot yet make a clear distinction about certain models, can identify the upcoming Raptor Lake refresh, Intel Core i3/i5/i7 and i9 processors, thanks to the latest software release. In other words, it will be able to show whether the chips used are the 13th generation or the updated 14th generation.
