Mr. Tsai, your country is threatened by an increasingly aggressive China. What does this mean for the world?
Taiwan is at the forefront of the fight against the expansion of authoritarian states. We know that we must defend our sovereignty ourselves, so we are strengthening our defense capacity. At the same time, international support for Taiwan has never been more important than now. It must be a joint project of democratic countries to increase the costs for authoritarian states so much that they think twice about going too far and breaking the rules-based order.
