We have run Starlink in Turkey! How much speed did we achieve?

Developed by SpaceX, Starlink is a satellite internet system that aims to improve internet access in remote areas. The system sends low-orbit internet signals over hundreds of satellites, providing a fast and low-latency internet connection. We tried Starlink, which we tried in the USA last month, this time in Istanbul Çatalca.

To purchase Starlink, you must first visit the SpaceX website. You have to pre-order on the site. Currently, a Starlink kit costs around $499 and includes a satellite internet modem, a satellite antenna, a power supply, and a cable. In the past weeks, SpaceX has reduced the deposit fee from $99 to $9.

After receiving the kit, you will need to install the satellite dish. The antenna provides internet access by directly receiving satellite signals and connecting with the internet modem. Starlink’s internet modem works like any other modem in your home, but sends and receives data over satellite signals. You can also share internet access by connecting the modem to your home network or Wi-Fi router.

Starlink provides many advantages, especially for those living in remote areas. Satellite internet works like fiber optic internet with a fast connection and offers lower latency than cable internet connections. This feature offers very useful speeds for online gamers, video conferencing and other heavy internet users.
