Wall Street continues to falter as retailer Kohl’s plummets

new York US investors held back again on Thursday. The Dow Jones index of blue chips was down 0.3 percent at 33,872 points, while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq index were more or less flat at 4270 and 12,937 points.

After the race to catch up in the past few weeks, the stock exchanges are running out of breath, traders said. “We had big gains, the market is digesting that at this point. Right now we’re on hold and some people are worried we’ll see another bottom,” said Joe Saluzzi, senior manager of trading at broker Themis Trading.

Since mid-June, the S&P 500 is up 17 percent, helped by positive results from American companies. At the same time, the Nasdaq gained 22 percent.
