The Nasdaq index fell another 1.6 percent to 10,792 points after closing in the red on Wednesday as a result of profit declines at Microsoft and Google parent Alphabet. Meta shares themselves lost almost a quarter of their value on Thursday and other industry giants such as Amazon and Apple also lost. The broad S&P 500 index lost 0.6 percent to 3807 points, the Dow Jones index of standard values added 0.6 percent.
