America’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and China’s top diplomat Yang Jiechi met this Monday away from the hustle and bustle of Rome at a luxury hilltop hotel. It was the first meeting between the two superpowers since the outbreak of war in Ukraine – and explosives were provided.
US media, citing US government officials, had reported that Russia had asked Beijing for military assistance in the war of aggression and protection from Western sanctions. According to a report in the Financial Times, China has signaled its willingness to provide military aid. The “FT” refers to diplomats.
