In terms of individual values, the shares of Twitter stood out, which jumped by more than 20 percent after billionaire Elon Musk gave in in the takeover dispute over the short message service.
The Dow Jones index of standard values closed 2.8 percent higher at 30,316 points. The tech-heavy Nasdaq advanced 3.3 percent to 11,176 points. The S&P 500 index improved by 3.1 percent to 3790 points. “The Bank of England flinched last week, showing investors around the world that central banks’ aggressiveness has limits,” said Thomas Hayes, managing director at Great Hill Capital.
