Washington In the US, unemployment fell again in March. The unemployment rate fell from the previous month by 0.2 percentage points to 3.6 percent, the US Department of Labor announced on Friday in Washington. On average, analysts had only expected a decline to 3.7 percent.

Unemployment in the world’s largest economy had already fallen in February. The rate is therefore not far from the level of 3.5 percent that it had before the corona pandemic. At the time, economists had spoken of de facto full employment.

About six million people are currently unemployed, according to the ministry, compared with around 5.7 million before the pandemic. Here, too, the labor market is approaching its pre-Corona level. During the pandemic, the labor market collapsed dramatically at times.
