TV Commissioner Steffen Schroeder – Cheat farewell to the Soko – Leipzig

Leipzig – With this farewell, a new life begins for Steffen Schroeder (47). The actor can be seen for the last time as Commissioner Tom Kowalski on “SOKO Leipzig” (ZDF, 9:15 pm) on Friday evening.

“It is a strange feeling that now is really the end,” says Schroeder to BILD. “SOKO Leipzig is a very important chapter in my life and I got on really well with my colleagues and the team.”

But he couldn’t really say goodbye.

“The episode was filmed in May last year, that was the high phase of Corona,” he says. “In the series, Kowalski says goodbye to his colleagues and it was bizarre that I had to hug dummies with wigs. But even after the shoot, I wasn’t allowed to hug my colleagues privately. No farewell party was allowed to take place. Unfortunately, something like that cannot be made up for. “

There is still contact with colleagues. They recently met again for the 20th anniversary of the series. But: “It hurts that I couldn’t really say goodbye back then.”

He now has time to act in other TV productions and is writing a historical novel. A lot is also changing in my private life. He and his wife Ute (50) are back home alone in Potsdam. The two older sons (21, 19) have moved out, the youngest (16) is currently doing a year abroad in Poland. Schroeder: “Suddenly you are living together again as a couple and not as a family.”

And so he will watch his last SOKO episode on Friday evening with his wife Ute and a good glass of wine at home.
