Compared to 2022, there was an increase of 12.5%!
Türkiye Importers Assembly announced its data this month as it does every month. Looking at the April 2023 data, there was a 21 percent decrease in Turkey’s defense industry exports compared to March 2023. In March 2023, Türkiye made a total of 505 thousand 979 million dollars of exports. However, this amount was 418 thousand 133 million dollars in April.
Although there was a decrease of 21 percent between March and April, there was a 12.5 percent increase in the general picture, namely the first four months of 2023, compared to the previous year. Looking at the general picture, our country’s defense industry was around 1 billion 337 million TL in total in the first four months of last year. The export data for the first 4 months of 2023 is just over 1 billion 500 million TL. In other words, the record broken in 2022 was broken again in 2023.

When we look at the export table, we can see the decreases experienced, albeit rarely, between months. However, these also happened in 2022 and they rose again without continuing for very long periods. When we look at the total of the first 4-month period, we see that the record broken in 2022 was broken in 2023 as well. It should also be noted that the largest share in export figures belongs to aviation products.
Turkey has increased its export figures significantly thanks to the UAVs, SİHAs, rocket munitions and helicopters it produced especially in 2022 and 2023. We hope that these numbers increase day by day and make serious contributions to our defense industry.
