Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoymade the following statements regarding Turkey’s addition to Google Arts & Culture:

As it is known, as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, we carry out intensive advertising and PR activities abroad through the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, in order to diversify our country’s tourism products and target markets and to extend the tourism season to 12 months and 81 provinces. In line with these goals, we see the Google Arts and Culture Turkey Platform, which is the product of our collaboration with Google, as an important global tool for introducing our country to the world. Of course, it was unthinkable that a country like Turkey, which is extremely rich in culture and cuisine, would not take part in this extremely important global platform. For this reason, I would like to thank the Google Arts and Culture team and Google Turkey for their support and cooperation in the realization of this project. I hope that the content that will be available on the platform as of today will support our goals of attracting qualified tourists, increasing product diversity, and promoting the rich cultural and historical heritage that our country offers in each of our 81 provinces, beyond the popular tourist destinations.
