Turkish engineers developed a compact HEPP reaching 1 MW installed power!

Turkish engineers have achieved an important development that will contribute to domestic and national energy production by increasing the potential of mini-scale hydroelectric power plants (HEPPs). With the support of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Türkiye Elektromekanik Sanayi A.Ş. HİDROTEM, or as it is known in short, developed by TEMSAN engineers, is a compact mini HEPP that can reach 1 MW installed power.

This innovative project was designed especially for use in areas such as municipalities, drinking water treatment facilities, water tank entrances and exits and facilities using cooling water. One of the biggest advantages of HİDROTEM is that it can be easily installed without requiring any construction work.

This feature significantly reduces the cost and implementation time of the project. Additionally, thanks to its portable and compact structure, it can be easily transported to another location when necessary. This system, developed by TEMSAN Design Center, has a structure that can be controlled remotely via mobile devices and can provide installed power starting from a minimum of 0.5 kW up to 1 MW. This means that it can meet the electricity needs of approximately 200 homes.

A new record in solar energy from Turkey!

A new record in solar energy from Turkey!

Turkey has left behind an important milestone in the field of solar energy and its installed power exceeded 12 thousand megawatts (MW) for the first time.

This project was appreciated and ordered by Trabzon Arsin Municipality and Zonguldak Municipalities Union, after successful tests in Babasultan village of Bursa’s Kestel district. Arsin Municipality ordered 265 kW, and Zonguldak Municipalities Union ordered 213 kW HYDROTEM. The system in Trabzon will be put into operation in the first quarter of the year. The system in Zonguldak has entered the energy production phase.

This development is also compatible with the R&D studies of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, which aims to maximize Turkey’s potential in the field of renewable energy. TEMSAN’s innovative solutions for hydroelectric power plant applications are seen as an important step for a sustainable and livable world. In addition, artificial intelligence-oriented studies are being carried out in the development of HİDROTEM, thus the system will provide optimization in areas such as water reserve control and the most efficient operating point.

This successful project aims to increase our country’s hydroelectric energy production capacity while also reducing foreign dependency in the field of energy by encouraging the use of domestic and national technology. According to Electrical and Electronics Engineer Batuhan Şenlen, the potential for HİDROTEM to be used in Turkey exceeds 1000 MW. This can make a significant contribution to the country’s energy production capacity.
