The first pocket satellite (pocketqube) produced in Turkey. Grizu-263A (grizuSAT)will be sent into space in cooperation with SpaceX. Turkey’s smallest pocket satellite, next week SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will be sent into space.
team advisor prof. Dr. Bulent Ekmekci and the Grizu-263 Space Team in a two-year period, the pocket satellite draws attention with its small dimensions. All parts of the satellite with a compact design Grizu-263 produced by the team.
Pocket satellite Grizu-263A will be launched on January 13
250 grams The cube satellite, which has a weight and dimensions of 5cm x 5cm x 5cm, was produced at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. The project was completed in 2018 and 2019. at CanSat Competition It was launched by the Grizu-263 Space Team, which was the 2nd World runner-up. The CanSat Competition event is regularly held with the support of institutions such as NASA, Lockheed Martin, Kratos Space, Praxis Inc and Siemens.
The satellite to be launched is in 525 kilometers low earth orbit. 4 years 8 months scheduled to work. Pocket satellite Grizu-263A 13 January 2022 at 18:25 CEST It is among the details that it will be launched from Cape Canaveral (SLC-40) Space Base in the USA.
The team within the project low earth orbit (LEO) will gain the ability to listen to satellites operating at amateur frequency. An agreement was reached with SpaceX, through Alba Orbital, to send the pocket satellite into space.
There are 4 subsystems in the Grizu-263A pocket satellite: on-board computer (OBC), electric-power (EPS), communication (COMM) and passive magnetic stabilization (PMAC) subsystems. The team will test all subsystems of the produced pocket satellite, especially the passive magnetic stabilization system, in space.
