Although Türk Telekom is the first company that comes to mind when it comes to internet infrastructure in our country, providers such as TurkNet and Turkcell SuperOnline have accelerated their infrastructure investments in recent years. In this context, Turkcell, which started a mobilization to increase its fiber infrastructure in Turkey, joins the provinces that will serve in Afyon, Uşak, Ordu and Sivas.
Announcing that it has invested 7.6 billion TL in fiber infrastructure in the last 10 years, Turkcell has allocated an additional budget of 270 million TL to bring infrastructure to new provinces, thus 4.4 million households will meet with fiber technology. The budget that Turkcell will allocate for fiber internet next year, that is, in 2022, has been determined as 1.5 billion TL.

Turkcell launches fiber internet mobilization
Turkcell, which started to provide fiber internet service over its own infrastructure for the first time in 2007 and offered 100 Mbps speed at that time, increased to 1000 Mbps in 2011, providing a great advantage especially for large companies. The number of fiber subscribers using the TV + service of the company, which currently offers devices with Wi-Fi 6 support to its users, has exceeded 1 million.
Participating in fiber infrastructure works started in Afyon Turkcell General Manager Murat Erkan said:
“Turkcell’s fiber backbone is available in 81 provinces of Turkey today, but our goal is to launch fiber mobilization and deliver real fiber internet to homes all over Turkey. For this reason, we started a fiber breakthrough move by hitting the first digging today in Afyon.
We accelerated our infrastructure works by taking action in Uşak, Ordu and Sivas at the same time as Afyon. Our individual and corporate customers in these provinces very soon; They will start using Turkcell’s real fiber internet that goes to the home and supports speeds up to 10 Gbps.
