TSMC has made a date for 3nm processors!

The world of smartphones has undoubtedly been the scene of a fierce competition recently. However, with the development of technology, processors in smartphones create a separate competitive field. TSMC, one of the most important names in this field, rolled up its sleeves for the production of 3nm processors.

TSMC will begin production of 3nm processors at its factory in Arizona in 2024

Morris Chang, the founder of TSMC, announced important information regarding the company’s production plans today. TSMC, one of the most successful companies in 4nm production, has given a date for the production of 3nm processors. Accordingly, the company will start production at its factory in Arizona in 2024.

3nm processors are on TSMC’s website under the name N3. The content also includes an information sheet compared to 5nm technology. Content says 3nm technology will offer up to 70 percent logic density gain and up to 15 percent speed improvement over 5nm technology at the same power. Additionally, Chang said the 3nm plant will be located in Arizona at the same location as the 5nm plant.

TSMC embargo in the smartphone world!

TSMC, one of the important companies in the semiconductor production for smartphones, is consolidating its leadership in the sector.

Samsung and TSMC are in fierce competition in 3nm technology. So much so that Samsung Electronics took a step forward by starting production in June. The company wants to use its own processor in the smartphones it produces very soon.

On the other hand, TSMC’s long-term projects are not limited to this. It has officially confirmed its 2nm processor, dubbed N2. The process, which started with IBM’s success in producing processors with 2nm transistor range last year, continues with TSMC. The company released a teaser last June revealing some important details about the subject.
