The new traffic fines list prepared by the General Directorate of Security has been published. Penalties for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs have been increased significantly. In addition, penalties for not yielding to pedestrians at pedestrian crossings, using flashing lights and not complying with speed limits have also been increased. Here is the list of traffic penalties for 2024:
- Drinking and driving penalty (first arrest) 6,440 TL
- Drinking and driving penalty (second arrest) 8,075 TL
- Drinking and driving penalty (third arrest) 12,978 TL
- Penalty for driving without a license: 12,978 TL
- Fine for not wearing a seat belt: 691 TL
- The fine for violating the safety lane is 6,440 TL
- Failure to comply with lane change rules (scissors) 1,507 TL
- Fine for not complying with following distance: 691 TL
- Fine for driving without traffic insurance is 691 TL
- Penalty for driving under the influence of drugs: 33,240 TL
- Penalty for overtaking in prohibited places: 1,507 TL
- Exceeding the speed limit by 10-30% 1,507 TL
- Exceeding the speed limit by 30%-50% 3.136 TL
- Exceeding the speed limit by more than 50% 6,440 TL
- Red light violation penalty: 1,507 TL
- Going to traffic with a vehicle without inspection: 1.507 TL
- Penalty for using fake license plates 32.171 TL
