Three reasons why headhunters annoy HR professionals

Dusseldorf Headhunters are currently booming: around a third of all employees in Germany were recently approached by external personnel consultants – twice the number before the corona pandemic. This is shown by the current Gallup Engagement Index, one of the largest employee surveys in Germany.

For Marcel Rütten, the increased number of headhunters has become a real nuisance. The personnel professional observes: Even with a friendly no, the consultants can hardly be brushed off at the moment. Most conversations ended with the unsolicited promise that they would get in touch again in a few weeks or months.

“It’s annoying,” summarizes Rütten. For his employer – the packaging company Paccor – he fills several hundred positions throughout Europe every year and counts on the strength of his own people.
