Kiev sees good chances for the attack, as Russia is considered vulnerable after the costly fighting in Donbass. In the spring, Russia could have problems providing enough military supplies for the war in Ukraine, the director of Ukraine’s military intelligence service, Kyrylo Budanov, recently told the US newspaper USA Today.
“If the Russian military does not achieve its goals this spring, it will run out of military assets,” Budanov said. This circumstance led him to a bold thesis: that Ukraine and Russia “will fight a decisive battle this spring” – possibly the last before the war ends.
