Frankfurt The honeymoon is over. According to a recent study by the consulting firm EY, the money for German start-ups from venture capitalists is no longer as easy as it used to be due to the gloomy economic outlook and rising interest rates. But there is obviously a segment of young companies that are still popular with investors despite the declining inflow of money: so-called proptechs, which offer new solutions for the sustainability of buildings.

According to information from the Handelsblatt, the Cologne-based building technology start-up Aedifion has now raised twelve million euros in a Series A round from new and existing investors. The lead investors in the oversubscribed round were the Berlin-based venture capitalist World Fund, which specializes in climate technology, and the technology and investment platform Beyond Build, with the participation of the family office of the SAP founding family of Dietmar Hopp. With the fresh capital, Aedifion CEO Johannes Fütterer now wants to expand the Cologne-based company into the European market leader.
