Stockholm Jasper Kurth made one thing clear right at the beginning of the conversation: “I can’t imagine a better country at the moment,” says the 38-year-old Head of Northern Europe at Bayer Pharmaceuticals Radiology. Three years ago he moved from Berlin to Stockholm with his wife and two children and feels at home here. “Sweden is a really great country, especially if you have two children like we do.”

The family especially likes nature. The Baltic Sea is “right in front of you”, as he puts it, and the forest is not far away either. “The quality of life is very high here, which we really appreciate,” says the business IT specialist.

Others confirm this: In a survey by the expat network Internations, Sweden ranks fourth when it comes to quality of life and the environment. A small drop of bitterness is the weather, which was rated negatively by more than a third of those surveyed. Financially, there are also a few things to consider in Sweden.
