This Hacker Steals $1M In Cryptocurrency Daily: Provides Expert Hedging Advice!

According to a prominent on-chain detective known as ZachXBT, a phishing scammer known as Monkey Drainer has been valued at nearly $1 million in the last 24 hours. cryptocurrency and approximately 700 in non-fungible tokens (NFTs) Ethereum (ETH) rang.

According to ZachXBT, the two biggest victims, 0x02a and 0x626, lost a total of $370,000 after signing transactions on phishing sites operated by the attacker.

In more detail, it was reported that 0x02a lost 1 Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection, 1 CloneX, 36,000 USDC and 12 other non-fungible tokens (NFTs) worth a total of approximately $150,000.

The Amount of Cryptocurrency Stolen by Monkey Drainer Fraud Is Increasing Every Day

These two victims were among the many whose funds were stolen by the Monkey Drainer. ZachXBT tweeted that the total amount stolen in the scam has exceeded $3.5 million and is increasing rapidly with each passing day.

ZachXBT warns users to “please be extra careful before visiting unknown sites, linking your wallet, and signing transactions.”

In August, ZachXBT uncovered another phishing scam in which people were defrauded of more than $2.5 million worth of NFT. Five people linked to the fraud involving the BAYC collection went on trial in Paris in early October.

Phishing is a form of social engineering in which an attacker sends a fraudulent message designed to trick someone into revealing sensitive information to the attacker or to plant malware such as ransomware on the victim’s internet infrastructure.
