Munich Rail commuters can get an idea of the construction progress every day. In the coming years, one of the most striking new development areas in the Munich area is to be built right next to the Dachau train station.
On an area of 17 hectares, on which paper was produced until 2007 and whose barracks served as the backdrop for a Munich crime scene a few years ago, the demolition work is as good as done.
By 2030, the project developer Isaria wants to create a residential, office and commercial quarter there. In the district town, a good 15 kilometers north-west of Munich, they speak of a “project of the century”. Again, there would be some relief in the surrounding area for the Munich housing market, which has been overheated for years.
