Berlin The traffic light coalition stands. This also makes it clear who will rule Germany in the future. The SPD, the Greens and the FDP have agreed on a division of responsibilities. And the parties have already chosen their ministers.
With the SPD, the last of the three traffic light parties presented their cabinet members on Monday – the new federal cabinet is now almost complete.
In total, the cabinet with Scholz as head of government consists of nine men and eight women. According to the Basic Law, the Federal Government consists of the Federal Chancellor and the Federal Ministers, all of whom are appointed by the Federal President and sworn in in the Bundestag. The Basic Law does not count the state ministers and state secretaries among the members of the government.
Only the State Ministry for Migration and the State Ministry for the new federal states are vacant. This is what the federal cabinet looks like now:
