watchOS 9.4 is available as a free download from the Apple Watch app on iPhone. To install the new software, the Apple Watch must have at least 50 percent charge, be connected to a charger, and be able to access your ‌‌‌‌‌‌iPhone‌‌‌‌‌‌‌.

watchOS 9.4 update brings new emoji characters such as donkey, goose, black bird, nod, hyacinth, pea, etc. Also, a change to wake alarms prevents them from being silenced with a mute gesture to prevent accidental canceling.

Also, watchOS 9.4 is expected to be one of the last updates to the watchOS operating system, as Apple is working to transition to watchOS 10, which is expected to be unveiled at WWDC in June.

Here are the update notes:

  • Wake-up alarms can no longer be silenced with a flip to mute to prevent them from being accidentally canceled during sleep.
  • Cycle Tracking is supplemented with retrospective ovulation forecasts and cycle deviation alerts in Moldova and Ukraine.
  • AFib History is available in Colombia, Malaysia, Moldova, Thailand, and Ukraine.
