Many companies across all industries are desperately looking for new employees, since many more veteran employees are now retiring than young people are taking their place.
According to all forecasts, the number of people in employment in Germany will fall significantly over the next 40 years. Since a higher birth rate is not in sight, the only option left is the immigration of qualified workers from abroad.
Employees have long been unable to pay the growing number of pensioners from their contributions. Here the federal government steps in with ever larger grants for the pension fund.
