Although it did not receive full praise from critics, the financial success of the Uncharted movie led to speculation that a sequel could be shot. Although there is no official statement from Sony yet, Mark Wahlberg, who played the character Sully in the first movie, made a promising update about the project.
The script for the Uncharted sequel is currently being written
During an interview with The Direct, Wahlberg revealed that a script for a sequel to the Uncharted movie is currently in development. When asked about the potential for a sequel, he said: “I heard many different ideas. I know someone wrote a script and they’re still working on it and it’s going to be all about having a mustache the whole time. This also makes sense; Of course, I will have the mustache in that final scene.”
Wahlberg’s comment refers to the iconic mustache associated with the character Sully in the Uncharted video game series. While the mustache only appeared briefly in the final scene in the first movie, the actor expressed his discomfort with the fake mustache and announced that he had left it off himself: “I spent a lot of time growing out the mustache because at one point we tried to do it with a fake mustache and I don’t know. I don’t have enough confidence to achieve this. “I feel like I have a big band over my mouth and I feel ridiculous.”

Despite the mixed reviews, Wahlberg also touched on the positive reactions to the mustache and expressed that he is open to a sequel: “If we can do better than the first one, I’d be open to it, but right now I only know what you know.” Although he downplays his insider knowledge and says he knows as much as the public, his confirmation that script development is ongoing shows that there are indeed plans for the next episode.
Fans who are impatient for the sequel to Uncharted may need to be patient, as it is reported that the film is still in the script stage. Since the first movie was only released last year, it’s possible that shooting won’t start until next year.
