The second largest dog cryptocurrency is now available for trading on the Mexican-based giant crypto exchange Bitso.
Bitso, Mexico’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has announced that the Ethereum-based meme cryptocurrency Shiba Inu (SHIB) can now be traded on its platform. The price of the Shiba Inu, on the other hand, is trading at roughly $0.00003195, up about 14.5 percent on major spot exchanges.
Looking at Bitso, which first started to give hints that the Shiba listing will take place in late December, the stock market Compound (COMP), Axie Infinity (AXS), Chainlink (LINK) and now supports trading of 16 cryptocurrencies, including some other altcoins. Interestingly, Dogecoin (DOGE), the original meme cryptocurrency and Shiba Inu’s fierce rival, is not listed on the exchange.
Bitso became the nation’s first cryptocurrency unicorn (private start-up worth over $1 billion) in May 2021, after raising $250 million during its Series C funding round from investors including venture capital firm Tiger Global and $48 billion hedge fund Coatue Management. s) and reached a valuation of $2.2 billion.
As part of the Bitso Shift initiative, the company formed a partnership with crypto giant Circle in November to enable cross-border payments between Mexico and the United States. Bitso is also a longtime partner of Ripple, a San Francisco-based blockchain company.
Earlier this month, the Latin American crypto unicorn signed a three-year partnership with Brazilian professional football club Sao Paulo FC.
As previously reported by KoinFinans, Brazil’s largest exchange Mercado Bitcoin also added support for the Shiba Inu in early December. Also earlier this week, support was added to the cryptocurrency by Indian cryptocurrency exchange Giottus.
The cryptocurrency can now be used to trade on Binance, Coinbase, Gemini and a host of other global exchanges, as a result of the exchange listing spree it has entered in recent months.
Bitstamp, the leading European cryptocurrency exchange, also recently confirmed that it plans to list SHIB in early 2022.
