Paris Bruno Le Maire is one of the most important ministers in the cabinet of French President Emmanuel Macron, he is responsible for economic and financial policy. His department is so extensive that he has two colleagues in the federal government: Christian Lindner (FDP) and Robert Habeck (Greens).

Franco-German relations have been characterized by discord over the past few weeks, especially in energy and security policy. In an interview with the Handelsblatt and three other European newspapers, Le Maire now assures: “One thing is certain: the political will to work together is intact in Paris and Berlin.”
