A report on the results of the survey conducted by the University Public Opinion Institute of Central American University José Simeón Cañas (UCA) between 7-17 December has been published.

According to the survey results, only 14.1% of the people of El Salvador stated that they have absolute trust in BTC, while 34.8% stated that they do not trust anything related to Bitcoin.

The survey revealed that 22% of the country’s population does not even know what Bitcoin is, or even how to use it alone.

The majority of the participants stated that they think that the accepted Bitcoin Law supports the rich, the government, foreign investors and entrepreneurs rather than the local people.

In this context, 25.6% of the respondents believe that it benefits the rich, 20.5% the government, while only 10.9% think that the Bitcoin Law is in the public interest.

When asked whether the adoption of Bitcoin has had an impact on the country’s economy, 60% of respondents said it had no impact, 20% said the economy had improved, and 57.2% said it remained the same.

Finally, the general consensus of the participants is that although Bitcoin has been accepted as legal money in the country, the use of BTC should not be mandatory and should be based on volunteerism.
