Ethereum domain name services (Ethereum Name Service, ENS) have already impacted the digital assets industry, as many brands, companies, and influencers are looking for ways to carry their name into this space by purchasing their own name services on the Blockchain.
Amazon’s Domain on Ethereum Blockchain Gets $1M Offer From An Anonymous Investor
As can be seen from the OpenSea page, the domain name, which has the name of one of the largest companies in the world, received a $1 million offer from an anonymous investor.
On October 18, 2019, someone purchased the “amazon.eth” ENS domain name for 100 Ethereum, which was worth approximately $20,000 at the time. Then, on February 8, 2022, a person took over the same address for 33 ETH, or $102,000 at that time.
If the offer is completed, the person who bought this domain name in February will have made a profit of approximately 1,000% in just a few months. However, it is not yet certain that the acquisition will be completed.
Anonymous Investor Collects Other Domain Names Similar to Company Name
The anonymous investor, who has offered $1 million for the domain, is actively collecting various ENS domains, according to his OpenSea page. The account also owns the domain name “omozon.eth”, which is similar to the name of Jeff Bezos’ company.
