The Legend of Black Murat becomes Immortal with NFT!

The interest in the NFT field, which started to regain its popularity in the middle of 2021 this year, is currently quite intense. While many artists are selling their works as NFT, companies from various sectors are also stepping into this field. For example, Marvel and DC are known to have designs on the NFT scene to leverage their large collection of comic art. According to new developments, this trend in our country is joined by the illustrations of the comic character Kara Murat, created by Rahmi Turan.

Kara Murat NFT collection is launched

Kara Murat is a comic book hero created by Rahmi Turan. Many people may be familiar with this comic book series, which was first published on December 5, 1971, in the newspaper Günaydın, with the title “Fatih’s Fedaisi Black Murat”. Kara Murat, who attracted great attention with his comics, was adapted for the cinema by Türker İnanoğlu and the character was portrayed by Cüneyt Arkın. Now, nearly 50 years after its release, NFTs are being released.

The first of the NFT collection in question will be the Kara Murat NFT. As seen above, this series consists of 10 unique and original pieces. NFTs will be based on Avalanche (AVAX) and thus exempt from the high transaction fees required by the Ethereum (ETH) network when trading. According to the official website describing the Kara Murat NFT collection, for purchase, users need to download the wallet service MetaMask and add the Avalanche network to MetaMask.

NFTs continue to find buyers in Turkey

Many non-fungible token collections were released during 2021. NFTs, aka non-fungible tokens, operate with a kind of “digital collection” whose property is recorded in a decentralized ledger. This space has become incredibly popular with an NFT that artist Beeple sold for $69 million in 2021. According to a report by blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis, the NFT market has surpassed $41 billion from early last year to mid-December 2021. NFTs and cryptocurrencies are often considered intertwined. But NFTs themselves are not cryptocurrencies as each is unique.

Some argue that if NFTs hold their value consistently over the long term, these tokens can become a “store of value” like gold, something investors can invest their money in during a downturn in other markets. As in the rest of the world, the NFT environment in Turkey is becoming quite large. Turkish consumers use various platforms to create and sell NFTs. Refik Anadol, Cem Yılmaz and some other Turkish artists created and sold their NFTs. It seems that this trend continues unabated in Turkey with the Kara Murat NFT, which was created by Turkish artists and has an important place in the history of comics in Turkey.
