The Greens are unrecognizable. In 1999, former Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer had to be insulted as a warmonger because of the German army’s mission in Kosovo. More than twenty years later, war is raging again in Europe, the Greens are once again in the Foreign Ministry, but there is no audible dispute within the party about the right course. On the contrary. The Greens present themselves as pacesetters of Ukraine policy in the federal government.

You have said goodbye to old beliefs at breathtaking speed. Weapons in war zones – until a few weeks ago that was still a red line documented in the election program. Now the party is the driving force in the traffic light coalition.
