Amazon spent record amounts for the Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power series, which will air on Prime Video next September. Jeff Bezos will be a big fan of this series, even though he opened his mouth and threw a smack into Netflix, making it the highest paid in the history of both the movie and the series.
So much so that only season 1 has a budget of 465 million dollars. In addition, the purchase of the broadcast rights cost 250 million dollars. The total box office revenue of the original trilogy of the series was $2.92 billion. However, the total budget of these three films was around 281 million dollars. So Amazon allocates a budget of 5 movies only for the first season. Of course, let’s also mention that there will be at least 5 seasons as per the agreement.
