Recently, Fenerbahçe announced that it had a sponsorship agreement with the meme token Floki. The fact that a well-established and big club like Fenerbahçe made a deal with a meme token caused some reactions while making Floki investors happy.
A comment came from Alexandre Dreyfus, the founder and CEO of Chiliz (CHZ) and Socios projects, the first project that comes to mind when it comes to football and crypto.
Expressing that he has some concerns because Floki is an anonymous project, the CEO stated that agreements with such anonymous projects could harm the crypto and football industry.
In his statement, Dreyfus used the following statements without mentioning Fenerbahçe:
“I do not support Floki Inu sponsoring many football teams in many countries. An anonymous project trying to navigate the hype of others. None of the team managers spoke to anyone from the Floki team. They just spoke to the agency. This is not good for both sports and the crypto industry.”
I’m not a fan of @RealFlokiInu becoming a sponsor with a lot of football teams in many countries. An anonymous ‘project’ trying to surf on the hype of others. None of the team managers have even spoken to anyone at Floki, only the agency. Not good for the industry (sports/crypto)
