Turkish F-16 aircraft now have domestic and national modernization!
Currently, there are aircraft with the F-16 Block 30, 40 and 50 modernization in the fleet of the Turkish Air Force. The last of these modernizations, Blok 50 modernization, was carried out in 2015. The rapid progress in the defense industry in the 8-year period has brought the modernization of Blok 70 earlier than expected.
In the face of this situation, Türkiye demanded Blok-70 modernization package from the USA. However, the request was denied. In response, the Presidency of Defense Industries joined forces with TAI and ASELSAN. In response to the Blok-70 modernization package, the Blok-ÖZGÜR project was launched.

Comparison of F-16 Block FREE and Block 70!
When the two modernization packages are compared, it would not be wrong to say that they are equivalents of each other. In fact, Blok ÖZGÜR is in a more advantageous position in terms of some equipment. Instrument landing systems and reconnaissance pod equipment make up these differences.
