Berlin Federal Digital Minister Volker Wissing (FDP) has completed his digital strategy. With the 51-page document, he brings together “the political priorities of the federal government in the cross-cutting issue of digitization under one roof,” as it says. The strategy is available to the Handelsblatt. It is intended to form “the overarching framework for digital policy up to 2025”.
The strategy deals with the topics “networked and digitally sovereign society”, “innovative economy, working environment, science and research” and “learning, digital state”. The basis should be modern fixed and mobile networks, as well as a legally secure ecosystem for data, internationally uniform technical norms and standards as well as secure, user-friendly digital identities.
The Digital Minister is directly responsible for these areas, while he has to share many other competencies relating to digital policy, including with the Chancellery.
