The expected news from TAI came: A date has been given for Hürjet!

The expected explanation has come for the model, which will in a sense be the predecessor of the fifth generation jet fighter, the National Combat Aircraft (MMU), or TFX, as it is known, and will pave the way. A date has been given for our first jet-powered aircraft, Hürjet, which is under development by TAI, whose primary mission is for training purposes, but which can also provide close air support.

ANKA SİHA has set a new record!

ANKA series unmanned aerial vehicles developed by TAI broke the record for the longest flight in a sortie.

Hürjet will appear on March 18, 2023!

We see thousands of models developed in the global market within the Aerospace Industry and remain as prototypes. But Hürjet will not be one of them. For the jet, whose body assembly has now begun, TUSAŞ pointed to the date of March 18, 2023 in its official Twitter account.

Of course, this date may also point to the exit from the hangar or the first engine start tests. However, considering the company’s future plans, it is anticipated to be the first flight date. Although this aircraft is for training purposes in terms of its class, it will have state-of-the-art equipment.

In other words, when we go to the cockpit, it will appear with a structure similar to the systems found in the F-35. Moreover, just like the Atak helicopters, it will pave the way for future generations or jets of different classes. Many systems that are planned to be used in the model known as TFX, that is, Turkish Fighter, but recently named MMU (National Combat Aircraft), will be used in Hürjet for the first time.

Therefore, as with Atak helicopters, although the development of first generation jets takes a relatively long time, there will be much shorter time intervals for new future models. In addition, since many technological components and other equipment will be tested at Hürjet during the mission, they can be used directly in the MMU.

Hürjet is also frequently compared with this model, as the Air Force currently has a large number of F-16s in its inventory. However, with its much lighter weight and smaller structure, this will actually be a training aircraft. Of course, it can be used in various missions thanks to active weapon stations when necessary.
